HISTORY
The Washington Heights site was, most recently, the location of Trinity Industries’ Industrial Structural Bridge Division. Throughout the years, the area has also been occupied by heavy industry such as steel mills, oil storage and petroleum refining, dilapidated apartment complexes and bars. The industrial facilities that once contaminated the site, as well as the remaining buildings, have been cleaned and cleared and the site is primed to be the impetus of transformation and renewal for the area.
